The incredible life of deaf-blind Frans Leijon, full of setbacks and Finnish sisu.
Frans Leijon (1879–1947), lost both his sight and hearing as a child in the suites after smallpox. Everything became silent and dark. It was difficult to walk on two legs, so he crawled on all fours, completely without language and communication. As he grew up, fighting and stealing became something natural to him. But he was determined to live a different kind of life, he just didn't know how.
It is said that people with deafblindness have an extra drive. Something that makes it work, even though the conditions are difficult. Everyone knows Helen Keller, but Frans Leijon – a Finnish-Swedish lion full of sisu – is at least as big a source of inspiration. He was a skilled craftsman, glazier, gardener – even an inventor! A very special person and it has been told about him in both Finland and Sweden. Now his gripping story is being told on stage.
